Ai Weiwei is a Chinese contemporary
artist currently living and working out of his studio in Beijing. Weiwei
partakes in various mediums including sculpture, photography, film,
instillation, and architecture.
Curious enough Weiwei involvement in social media interactions with his
followers has been interpreted as one of his art form.
As can be seen with some of the
photos provided Weiwei doesn’t just use his social media networks as a means to
connect with others, but also to share his voice. As a public figure of sort,
Ai Weiwei has developed a large following and has used his fame and works to
push for change. His photographs
depict him in unfortunate situations including himself as a victim of police
brutality. Through twitter and his photos he is able to encourage people to
stand up for themselves with his example versus its traditional use.
