Sheridan O'Neal submits Albert Chong

Sheridan O'Neal submits Albert Chong

Albert Chong creates photomosaics on stone tiles to create one of his bodies of work. He composites multiple images in order to create a story or to illuminate a bigger picture, such as "faces from my past".  These works are very compelling and have dynamic compositions. The only image that I don't care for in this series is "portrait of the artist victim colonial mentality". Its composition is much more stagnant than the rest of the series and does not invite the viewer into a larger story or idea. It lacks a connection to the other photos other than that it is created on stone tiles as well. Albert Chong also creates many other photographic series as well as sculptures, announcements, posters, installations, and projections. His series on projections are really interesting as well. He photographs the figure then projects different images, textures, or text on to them in order to create a dialogue or compelling idea.
