Photographer Simen Johan creates incredible and realistic nature scenes by photographing environments and living or taxidermic animals. An alluring feature of his photographs is his use of animal interaction and the environments in which they are set. Joining two animals that are not seen together in the same environment or placing an animal in an environment that is not their own compels the viewer to question the pairing of all the elements. At first glance his images look as if they were captured as they were happening, however upon further inspection one can notice a peculiar environment. The combination of elements sends the viewer to a time where these animals and environments coexist.
