Ryan Kirby submits Josef Hoflehner

Some of the most visually arresting pictures are ones that portray the clean lines of our mechanized world. Born in Austria in 1955 Josef has documented many of these elements. Throughout his work we see jetliners, cars, skyscrapers and other monuments of human creation. I am especially interested in his photos of cityscapes and one in particular is his photos of Dubai. Within the last decade Dubai has grown tremendously and now boasts the world’s tallest structure. In his photos one can see that building and also the low rises that dominated Dubai before its boom. He also shows a series of planes landing at St. Maarten, an airport well known for its low landing approach.
