Haydeé Muñoz submits Silvia Usle

Silvia Usle was born and raised in Spain. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. At first, she was an illustrator and graphic designer but then she decided to move to New York to become a photographer and enrolled in a one year certificate at the International Center of Photography. She is very interested in color and line and she is and besides portraits she is also an architectural photographer. I could not find her artist statement in her webpage, but these two photos are portraits, their titles describe what is in the pictures, and they were taken in New York. Silvia wrote a book called Silvia in New York. I enjoy the photos because the color are very vivid and the portraits look funky and unreal, but at the same time it is New York and it might be possible there. I like that she did document the unexpected in New York very well. One can see diversity, openess, and get a real feeling of New York life. I admire her use of color and the choice of people.
